Maura joined the Brookfield team in October 2017, as one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians. In the spring of 2018, she transitioned into the Lead Veterinary Technician role at the hospital. She’s always known that caring for animals is something she wanted to dedicate her life to and since then, she’s worked hard to make that dream a reality!
Maura came to us from Bellingham, where she attended Whatcom Community College, Western Washington University, and Bellingham Technical College where she earned her degree in Science and Veterinary Technology. During this time, she found a great passion in Wildlife Rehabilitation, where she cared for an array of animals like Eagles, Raccoons, Coyotes, Owls, all types of birds, and many other wildlife mammals!
Since finishing college, Maura moved to the Seattle area and has spent time as an LVT in Oncology, Emergency Medicine/Critical Care, and in General Practice. She ultimately loved Brookfield for the family-like team she’s become apart of, the beautiful hospital, and our dedication to each patient!
On her free time she delves into other passions of hers - interior design and aesthetics. Her and her husband enjoy venturing around the city, kayaking and boating around the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands, enjoying various wine countries, and finding new tasty restaurants! She also enjoys a relaxing day with her two adopted dogs: Kona and Phoebe.
